(FOREST VIEW) A driver was hurt in a shooting Saturday night on the Stevenson Expressway in southwest suburban Forest View, just outside Chicago.

The person was shot then crashed into a light pole in the southbound lanes of I-55 near Central Avenue in Forest View about 9 p.m., according to Illinois State Police.

The driver — whose gender and age were not immediately available — was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, police said.

Details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not available early Sunday. Illinois State Police are investigating.
