Police are searching for a man who asked a girl if she wanted to make some money while she was walking Sunday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The girl was walking about 1:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Christiana Street when the man pulled his vehicle over to speak to her, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

He then asked the girl if she had any friends that would date him and if she wanted to make some money, police said.

The suspect is described as a white Hispanic man, between 40 and 50 years old, with a black, combed back receding hair and a medium complexion, police said. He had an earring in his right ear, was wearing a black shirt, a black vest and was driving a green, older model minivan with rust spots and an unknown Illinois license plate.

Anyone with information about the attempted luring should contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
