A man who died after he was shot early Tuesday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood has been identified.

Youman McKenzie, 23, was shot in the shoulder and left thigh about 2:20 a.m. in the 500 block of South Central Park, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Witnesses said they saw the man exchange fire with another person, police said. A weapon was recovered at the scene.

McKenzie, of the 7000 block of South Winchester, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
