A man was hurt in a drive-by shooting Tuesday morning in Englewood on the South Side.

The shooting happened in the 7100 block of South Winchester about 9:40 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

The 22-year-old man was standing in the alley when he was shot by someone in a passing vehicle, Sedevic said.

He was shot in the leg and taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

Police said the man shot is a documented gang member.
