Being No. 2 at the Benet Thanksgiving Tournament didn’t sit very well with Providence senior Alyssa Jurges.

“We were going for the gold and things didn’t go in our favor,” Jurges said. “For this tournament we wanted to come out with a little fire.”

In Tuesday’s Lincoln-Way East Medieval Classic game against Bremen, Jurges fanned some flames with three three-pointers in a 22-1 first quarter.

The Celtics never did let off the throttle, prevailing 73-27 to move to 2-0 in pool play.
