(BROOKSTON, Ind.) A Chicago man died in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in northwest Indiana.

Quin J. Kyles, 23, was driving north on I-65 near Lafayette, Indiana when his 2014 BMW X1 hydroplaned, according to Indiana State Police.

Kyles’ vehicle then struck the rear of a newer model Acura MDX and both vehicles lost control, police said. The Acura spun into a ditch while the BMW rolled several times before landing in a ditch.

Kyles, of Chicago, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A person inside his vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Four people who were inside the Acura were not injured.

Weather conditions may have played a role in the crash, as road surfaces were wet, police said. No citations were issued, but police are still investigating.
