Police are warning Hyde Park residents of recent armed robberies in the South Side neighborhood.

Two incidents were reported in the 1700 block of East 54th and 55th streets during evening hours in December, Area Central detectives said in an alert. Exact dates of the robberies were not known.

A boy between 14 and 15 years old approached people in each incident before demanding money, a phone and a purse, police said. He showed a blue steel handgun in both robberies, police said.
