When a 10-point second-quarter lead dwindled to two early in the second half, Lincoln-Way North got busy at the baseline.

“Coach told Valen (Manns) to get on the girl who’s taking the ball out of bounds so it would distract her,’’ North guard Kayla Horlacher said of the 6-foot Manns. “Then we would trap the girl and get the other girls she would pass to.’’

That ball pressure led to a few easy layups and Horlacher connected on three three-pointers in the third quarter to combine for a 44-26 lead that became a 61-35 win Friday over Minooka in the third round of the Medieval Classic at Lincoln-Way East.
