A man was wounded in a University Village drive-by shooting on the Near West Side early Sunday.

The 23-year-old was standing on a sidewalk about 1:45 a.m. in the 1300 block of West Washburne when someone fired shots from a passing white car, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

He was shot in the upper left arm and taken to University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, Alfaro said.
