A 68-year-old man went missing on Christmas Day from the West Ridge neighborhood on the North Side.

About 6:45 p.m., Ra Chaka left his home in the 6300 block of North California to meet his girlfriend for a date in the 0-100 block of East 110th Place, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

Chaka, who uses a wheelchair due to paralysis on his left side from a stroke, never returned from the date, the alert said. He has other friends in that area of 110th Place on the Far South Side, police said.

Chaka is described as a 5-foot-9, 165-pound black man with graying hair. He was last seen in his wheelchair wearing a black leather jacket and slacks, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8266.
