Three men were ordered held on a $250,000 bond Monday in connection with an armed robbery in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The men allegedly robbed a person Sunday  about 2:50 a.m. near the intersection of Jackson and Western, according to police. Shortly after the robbery, all three got into a vehicle that drove onto the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290).

When officers responded, they saw the vehicle had crashed into an expressway embankment at Polk, police said. No one was hurt.

William Irving, 21, of the 3600 block of West Lake; Devonte Merrill, 21, of the 3800 block of Holly Lane in Country Club Hills and Dequan Brown, 22, of the 900 block of East 92nd Place, were charged each with two felony counts of robbery with a firearm, police said.

Merrill saw two additional charges of driving on a suspended license and reckless driving.

All three were ordered held on a $250,000 bond Monday, and will next appear in court Jan. 5, court records show.
