A man was shot several times in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood Wednesday evening.

About 5 p.m., the 21-year-old was in the 400 block of East 71st Street when a male walked up and opened fire, striking him in the chest, arm and back, police said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.
