Two armed robberies occurred about a half-mile apart Sunday afternoon in the Lake View neighborhood on the North Side.

The incidents happened in the 3700 block of North Wayne at 1:05 p.m., and 20 minutes later in the 3600 block of North Bosworth, Area North detectives said in an alert.

In the Wayne robbery, a black female approached someone from behind, showed a black handgun and demanded property before entering and driving off in a white, older model car, police said. Further description of the suspect was not provided.

A 5-foot-9, 250-pound black male is suspected in the Bosworth robbery. The male, who has dreadlocks and a dark complexion, approached the victim from behind with a dark handgun, demanded their belongings and ran to a car similar to the one described in the Wayne incident, police said.

The license plate on the vehicle he entered begins with Y25, police said.
