A man with poor eyesight was reported missing by his wife Tuesday morning after the two went to sleep together and she woke up to find him gone.

Jaime Sampedro, 70, was reported missing about 7:30 a.m. from his home in the 7000 block of North Kedzie, police said.

Sampedro and his wife went to bed about 10 p.m. Monday, and when she woke up, her husband – who is blind in his left and partially blind in his right – was gone, police said.

Sampedro does not leave his home alone, police added.

He was described as a Hispanic man with brown eyes, gray hair and an olive complexion. He standing 5-foot-6 and weighs 145 pounds, police said.
