‘Wild Chicago’ team reunites for national travel series

Some of the key players from WTTW-Channel 11’s fondly remembered “Wild Chicago” take the formula nationwide in a new series debuting Saturday.

Will Clinger, the show’s 1992-2002 host, goes to a Houston funeral museum, a mustache contest in Portland, Ore., and other destinations on “Wild Travels,” which uses the roving camera and fast-paced editing of its predecessor.

“Wild Travels” premieres at 5:30 p.m. Saturday on WTTW-Channel 11, with another episode airing at 10:35 p.m. Sunday.

The executive producer is “Wild Chicago” veteran Harvey Moshman, and John Davies, who created the original series with Ben Hollis, serves as executive consultant. The team is targeting a national rollout this fall.
