(WESTERN SPRINGS) A man armed with a revolver robbed a bank Tuesday afternoon in west suburban Western Springs.

The robbery happened at a First Merit Bank branch at 5450 Wolf Rd. at 4:10 p.m., according to a statement from Western Springs police.

The suspect pulled out a revolver and demanded money, which he put in a small bag before leaving the bank on foot headed northbound, police said. No one was hurt during the robbery.

Officers from several law enforcement agencies responded and searched, but the suspect was not found, police said.

He is described as a white man, about 40 years old, 5-foot-10, wearing a light blue stocking cap, mirrored sunglasses, a brown jacket, brown khaki pants and a black scarf partially concealing his face.
