A woman was killed in a crash on the Far South Side early Thursday.

The single-car crash happened about 2 a.m. in the 12000 block of South Avenue O, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

A Dodge Neon went through a fence before flipping over, Alfaro said.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman identified as Nancy Villarruel, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Her home address was not immediately known.

No one else was in the car, authorities said.

An autopsy Thursday found Villarruel died of head injuries in an automobile collision and her death was ruled an accident.
