Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling thinks you ‘otter’ pick this name for the Shedd Aquarium’s Pup 681

The Shedd Aquarium announced a contest to name its adorable orphaned sea otter pup earlier this week.

And one of the fans weighing in with her pick from the five names the aquarium has narrowed it down to is Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.

“Luna, of course!” Rowling tweeted Wednesday.

The five names voters can choose from include Luna, Cali, Ellie, Poppy and Anya or Aña.

All share a piece of the story of the little sea otter’s rescue in California and new life in Chicago. But “Luna” also would share a piece of the author’s stories: One of Harry’s classmates at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is named Luna Lovegood.

Rowling previously has tweeted if she weren’t an author, she would be an “otter weigher.” With her tweet, she shared a photo of Shedd’s otter, now called Pup 681, being weighed at the aquarium.

The aquarium since has invited Rowling to give the alternate career path a chance if ever she is in Chicago, an idea Rowling seemed receptive to. (Who wouldn’t be?)

Pup 681 recently has expanded her skills from looking adorable and being weighed to diving, swimming and pulling herself up out of her pool.

Stay tuned for a possible sequel.
