Service has been restored to more than 90 People’s Gas customers in the South Side Beverly neighborhood after a gas main was damaged Wednesday afternoon.

A third party damaged the main in the 10000 block of South Prospect, People’s Gas spokeswoman Jennifer Block said.

Crews shut off the natural gas supply at 3 p.m. Wednesday to assess the damage, and 91 customers were without service, Block said. The utility worked throughout the night to repair the gas main.

As of 11:45 a.m., service was restored to all of the homes the company had access to, according to a statement from People’s Gas.
