(OAK LAWN) Two northwest Indiana residents hired to deliver phone books in southwest suburban Oak Lawn are accused of stealing packages off a porch.

A resident called 911 on Monday after seeing two people remove packages from a porch in the 10000 block of South Kildare, and load them into a vehicle, according to an Oak Lawn police statement.

Officers stopped a vehicle matching its description and found the two packages inside, both bearing the name and address of the victim, police said.

Alicia Wallace, 34, was charged with one misdemeanor count of theft, while Warren Bailey, 46, was charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of stolen property and cited for driving on a suspended license. Both live in the 4400 block of George Street in Gary, Ind., police said.

Authorities later learned the suspects worked for a company that was delivering phone books in the area, police said.
