Burglars used a hammer to smash through the front door of a high-end men’s fashion retailer in the Loop early Thursday, the second time the store has been robbed in two months.

Officers received a call of a burglary in progress about 2:40 a.m. at the Paul Stuart clothing store at 208 S. LaSalle, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

Two males used a hammer to smash through the front door before taking off in a dark-colored van, Alfaro said.

The value of the stolen goods was not immediately known.

The same store was robbed on Oct. 15. Between 5-6 a.m., someone broke the front door of the store and stole an undetermined amount of clothing, police said.

No one is in custody for either robbery as of Thursday morning.
