SHARE Report: Fire signs area native Michael Stephens

It appears the Fire’s focus on players plying their trade in Scandinavia has paid off again. It also looks like they’re bringing home an area native at the same time.

Per a report in Norway, former Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Michael Stephens has joined the Fire. Stephens, 25, spent 2014 with Norwegian side Stabaek after spending four seasons with the Galaxy where he won two MLS Cup titles.

Stephens grew up in Naperville and played two seasons for the Chicago Fire Premier in the USL Premier Development League.

The Fire declined to comment on Stephens.
