Two men accused in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy Wednesday night in Austin on the city’s West Side have been ordered held on a $2 million bail apiece.

Kenyon Jones, 33, of the 1600 block of North Nagle, and Paris Jones, 24, of the 700 block of North Waller, are each charged with first-degree murder.

Demond Avant was shot as he stoood on a sidewalk in the 600 block of North Mayfield around 9:25 p.m. Wednesday. Someone got out of a van and shot him in the head, according to the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Avant, of the 1000 block of North Monitor, was pronounced dead at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park.
