YORK TOWNSHIP — A 6-year-old boy died Saturday afternoon after an accidental shooting Friday night at his west suburban home, according to police.

Michael Cattron III was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He suffered a gunshot wound at his home in the 18 W100 block of 14th Street in unincorporated DuPage County near Villa Park, authorities said.

The DuPage County sheriff’s office could not be reached for further details Saturday.
