A 9-year-old boy was shot in his right leg, the unintended victim of a stray bullet Saturday morning on the Near West Side, according to police.
The boy was walking with his father at 11:35 a.m. in the 2300 block of West Adams when a gunman opened fire on a passing car and “inadvertently” shot the boy in the lower right leg, Officer Thomas Sweeney said.
The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.
