A man was wounded in an apparent accidental shooting late Saturday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The man, 45, was shot in the shoulder at 10:35 p.m. when his girlfriend accidentally discharged a gun in the 7200 block of South Lowe, police said.

He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

His girlfriend, 44, was taken into custody, police said. No charges had been filed early Sunday.
