Report: Ken Williams considering resigning from White Sox

Fox Sports baseball reporter Ken Rosenthal has sources that indicate White Sox executive vice President Kenny Williams is considering resigning.

Rosenthal said the White Sox balked at giving the Blue Jays permission to speak about taking over as Toronto’s CEO/president.

Williams, in turn, is considering resigning, Rosenthal reports.

Williams produced the best winning percentage of any general manager in White Sox history during his 12 seasons on the job, steering the team to a World Series title in 2005, two division titles and five second-place finishes.

Williams left his post as general manager and became the executive VP in 2012.

ESPN’s Buster Olney also reported that the Blue Jays were, indeed, pursuing Williams.
