A man and a woman were both shot Sunday evening in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. in the 700 block of South Albany, said police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney.

The 22-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital, where his condition stabilized, Sweeney said.

The 29-year-old woman was also shot in the leg, Sweeney said. She took herself to Mount Sinai Hospital, but her condition was not immediately known.
