A man and a woman were killed and two other people injured early Sunday when an SUV struck two vehicles and a tree in the North Side Bucktown neighborhood.

The man was driving a gray Chevy Tahoe westbound in the 1800 block of West Webster when the SUV sideswiped another vehicle at 3:30 a.m., police said.

The man the continued driving for two blocks west, where the Tahoe hit a parked vehicle and a tree, police said.

The driver, Anthony James, 34, of the 5500 block of South Sawyer, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A passenger in the Tahoe, 37-year-old Lajada Jackson, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounce dead at 5:48 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said. Her home address was not immediately known.

Autopsies Monday found both died of multiple injuries from the crash, and ruled their deaths accidents, the medical examiner’s office said.

A third passenger in the SUV was taken to Masonic and a fourth person was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. Both were listed in serious condition.
