Stressed from holiday travel? Unwind in O’Hare’s yoga room

It’s no secret flying through Chicago can be a nightmare. Delays caused by airlines and weather seem to converge at O’Hare, which is one of the country’s busiest airports.

And perhaps no time is worse than around the holidays, when bad weather combines with the great numbers of people making their way home.

Good news, though — O’Hare has opened a yoga room, which could help with the frustration of a delayed flight. The room is in Terminal 3, on the mezzanine level of the rotunda.

The space is enclosed by frosted glass and has sustainable bamboo flooring, plants, a mirror to check your poses in, and space to store your belongings while you stretch.

The room offers mats for yogis, and a TV in the room shows yoga techniques and plays music. Just outside, a screen displays flight arrival and departure times.

Yoga and deep breathing are a great way to battle the frustrations of air travel — especially if you are between flights and are stiff from sitting for hours.

Regardless of your interest in yoga, though, the room sounds like a nice place to spend some time if you’re trapped in the terminal.
