(PARK RIDGE) A West Side man has been charged with forgery after he was allegedly caught using counterfeit money last week in northwest suburban Park Ridge.

Police were called to the 100 block of Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge Dec. 2 for reports of a man trying to use counterfeit money, according to a statement from Park Ridge police.

Officers determined that Kenyon O. Dobbins, 44, had made a purchase using a counterfeit $100 bill and had several other counterfeit $100 bills on him, police said.

Dobbins, of the 100 block of South Central, was charged with one count of forgery and was ordered held on a $25,000 bond, according to police and the Cook County sheriff’s office.
