A man died after he was shot multiple times in a domestic-related incident Monday morning in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood.

Guvonni Johnson got into an argument with a man about 11:10 a.m. outside his home in the 6100 block of South Wabash, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said the other man pulled out a handgun and shot the 25-year-old in the head and chest.

Johnson was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died at 4:24 a.m. Tuesday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police said the shooter is known, but he was not in custody as of Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect’s son witnessed the shooting of at least five relatives, according to Joliet police reports obtained through a public records request. The reports also indicate the boy’s mother was more deeply involved in the case than first thought.
