A man was critically injured in a shooting Tuesday morning near Truman College in the North Side Uptown neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 10 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Wilson, police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

The victim, whose age was not immediately available, was shot in the head and taken in critical condition to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Sedevic said.

Police said the shooting appears to be a drive-by and the victim was not the intended target.

The shooting happened near Truman College, but not on the campus.

No. 78 Montrose buses are being rerouted in both directions in the area, according to the CTA.
