Evanston track & field star Parker English will be honored Wednesday at the school for winning the 2014 Gatorade Illinois Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award. A brief trophy presentation will be held in the school’s main office at noon.

Three Wildkits athletes have won the Illinois Gatorade award in its 29-year history, as Parker joins Janis Foster (1989) and Shalina Clarke (2006). This spring, Parker won the 200-meter and 400-meter dash, and placed third in the 100-meter dash at the IHSA state finals where Evanston finished fourth as a team.

Parker earned 13 state medals over her four-year career and was a member of two state championship relay teams. She will attend Notre Dame later this fall.
