Image young fan Hannah’s surprise when superstar Taylor Swift personally responded to her Instagram message — requesting advice about her unrequited adoration of a longtime male friend.
After first complementing Hannah on her gorgeous eyes, Swift went on to say that “unrequited love is just as valid as any other kind. It’s just as crushing and just as thrilling.”
Taylor went on to say that Hannah’s love was a pure thing, “selfless and beautiful and kind,” not simply because “you think you’ll ever have your affections reciprocated. … Feel good about being the kind of person who loves selflessly. I think someday you’ll find someone who loves you in that exact same way.”
