Westminster Christian athletic director Rick Palmer announced Monday the naming of Steve Gallaher as both the new baseball coach and assistant athletic director.

Gallaher had been associate athletic director, taught math and coached baseball at Wheaton Academy after receiving his bachelor’s degree from Wisconsin and master’s from Aurora.

“I am very excited about joining the Westminster community and I am looking forward to seeing the athletic program grow and develop even more in the years to come,” Gallaher said.

Gallaher becomes the fourth Westminster baseball coach in four years and replaces Brance Rivera, who left the school in July after one season to become a baseball assistant at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.
