At Saturday’s Riverside-Brookfield Bulldog Relays, Niles West won the girls division with 76 points while Leyden (18) took eighth and St. Joseph (15) was ninth.

St. Joseph senior Melissa Hollingshed has proved a quick learner in jumping events. Participating competitively for the first time in the triple jump, she finished second (31-10). She also got second in the long jump (15-9.5). Senior teammate Shaya Minter was second in the 100 (12.80).

“I think I did really well since this was my first time doing the triple jump,” Hollingshed said. “I was really happy with how I did. I was just hoping for the best and it worked out.”

Elmwood Park was led by Ruth Langkamp, who won the pole vault by clearing 8-0. Freshman Diana Czerwiec was fourth in the 100 (13.20).

Leyden’s 400 relay was second (52.80) and junior Stephanie Dominquez was fourth in the 300 hurdles (50.12) for the Eagles’ top individual performance.
