For those who want to experience “Sharknado 2: The Second One” — even bigger and better than by watching it at home — there will be a one-night-only movie theater event happening at various multiplexes in our area.

The Syfy Channel sequel — which was the most tweeted-about show last week — will be screened at 15 theaters in Chicago and the suburbs at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21.

Ian Ziering and Tara Reid return in this second “Sharknado” flick — as the the action now moves to New York City. When the TV film debuted July 30, the viewing audience of four million made it the most-watched original film in Syfy’s history.
