SHARE North Shore Country Day advances to Class 1A state tournament

The North Shore Country Day boys golf team is going back to state after winning the Class 1A Byron Sectional on Monday. The Raiders, the two-time defending state champions, registered a 311 at Prairie View.

Andrew Blechman, a North Shore junior, carded a 74 to earn medalist honors at the sectional.

Senior Jack Valenti (77), sophomore Drew Miles (79) and junior Sam Reategui (81) also contributed to North Shore’s team score.

The Raiders edged second-place Byron by four strokes. Stockton (320) also advanced to state as a team.

The Class 1A state tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Prairie Vista in Bloomington.
