Junior Kayla Morrissey is among several Lyons players expected to play against a few of their club teammates when Nazareth plays at Lyons at 4:30 p.m. Friday. | Jon Langham~For Sun-Times Media.

It seems everything is weather permitting when it comes to spring sports in Chicagoland, and so it goes in an anticipated nonconference softball showdown Friday between Nazareth of LaGrange Park and Lyons of La Grange/Western Springs. Friday’s forecast includes more rain showers.

Players from both teams hail from the same travel softball program, the LT Blazers. Blazers organizers note that the club is still looking for players on at least five of its teams from 18U to 13U. The club’s website at ltbazers.com lists what position openings are available for each team. The club’s first tournaments for 14U and 13U begin May 10.

LT Blazers players represented in Friday’s game include Holly Haberkorn and Katelyn Cahill from Nazareth. Lyons includes Megan Klima, Becky Ryckman, Alyssa Collins, Stefanie D’Anna, Kayla Morrissey, Leah Nunez, Alexus Pelletiere and Courtney Petrosius.
