Payton may have received the higher seeding because of its 8-1 record in the Chicago conference, but even with a 5-4 record Rochelle was a much superior team.
The Hubs wasted little time as they scored on their first play from scrimmage on a 51-yard run by running back Evan White.
White gained 161 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, and Marquez Felix rushed for 117 yards and a score on five carries.

Rochelle’s ground game netted 439 yards to Payton’s 69 yards.
