MEN’S BASKETBALL

Held to a season-low scoring total for the second consecutive game, the North Central College men’s basketball team dropped to 1-2 in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play on Saturday as it fell 65-51 at Carthage College. Vince Kmiec scored a team-high 11 points for North Central.

WRESTLING

North Central College finished second at the Manchester University Spartan Mat Classic. Freshman Layten Binion earned a 12-5 victory over Wheeling Jesuit University’s Scott Lopez to win the 133-pound weight class. Nathan Segal (149) and Dylan Mahler (285) also won titles.

The Bears were down to three healthy receivers with Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) out and Tyler Scott (hamstring) and Velus Jones (illness) questionable. Johnson has 29 receptions for 377 yards and two TDs with the Jaguars (2020) and Giants (2021).
