Hinsdale South rolls by York

York was going to continue passing the ball until Hinsdale South took it out of the Dukes’ hands.

And that’s just what sophomore defensive back Chuck Hunter did during the Hornets’ 49-21 West Suburban crossover win Friday in Darien. The 6-foot Hunter grabbed a pair of interceptions, including one off a fake field goal, to end a pair of threats by the visitors. York senior quarterback Andrew Iwaskiewicz completed 21-of-46 passes and was picked off three times to keep the Hornets from feeling comfortable. “It was tough,” Hunter said of covering deep route after deep route, as York ran the ball only eight times. “I was tired but I fought through it. I was pretty shocked I got the fake field goal.” York had no answer for Hornet senior quarterback D.J. Deolitsis and Hinsdale South’s triple option. Deolitsis completed 6-of-14 passes for 96 yards and carried 18 times for 165 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown that gave the home team a 34-14 lead with 7:16 left in the third quarter.
