Ridgewood picked up its first win of the season in timely fashion, beating Riverside-Brookfield, 20-14, in the Metro Suburban opener Friday.

Running back Sam Karim rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries to carry the Rebels (1-4), while quarterback Geri Aliaj went 15-of-22 for 257 yards and a touchdown. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, fell to 0-5.
