Shootout schedule for DGN’s Winter Classic

SHARE Shootout schedule for DGN’s Winter Classic

The annual Downers Grove North Winter Classic will be held Saturday, Jan. 12. Hinsdale South’s boys basketball team has dropped out, but has been replaced by Kenwood (7-6) of the Public League’s Red-Central. The shootout will be a West suburban homecoming for Kenwood coach Jim Maley, a former Lyons star. Maley is the son of St. Joseph girls basketball coach Jim Maley and the husband of Hinsdale Central badminton coach Katie Maley.

Two other new teams in this year’s shootout are York and Lake Park, which replaced Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South.

Here’s the Winter Classic schedule:

DGN girls vs. Hinsdale South, noon

Glenbard East vs Lake Park, 2 p.m.

Glenbard North vs. Hinsdale Central, 3:30 p.m.

Downers North vs Kenwood, 5 p.m.

York vs Downers South, 6:30 p.m.
