THE SKINNY: Guerin fell behind 6-0 but scored 35 straight points to take complete control of the game. The Gators made plays on defense, scoring twice as Mike Marra and Richie Zacharias returned interceptions for touchdowns.

TURNING POINT: Tilden was down 21-6 late in the first half when they tried to make a little magic happen. Instead, Marra picked off a pass and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown with 3.6 seconds left in the second quarter for a 28-6 lead.

THE STAR: Guerin quarterback Tyler Flynn was 16-for-25 for 212 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. He was also the leading rusher with 38 yards on four carries.

BY THE NUMBERS: Tilden’s Justin McRoyal was 8-for-22 for 249 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. Gators’ senior Joe Binkowski, who played varsity football as a freshman but took the last two years off to focus on basketball, scored the first two touchdowns of his football career on receptions. He had four catches for 57 yards.

QUOTABLE: “I think after the slow start we started playing our game. It showed on the scoreboard. Most quarterbacks like to throw to one guy but I throw to who’s open. I just trust all my wide receivers to catch the ball.
