Anything can happen in the playoffs. Like a hot goalie in the NHL playoffs, one starting pitcher can make a big difference in a single-elimination baseball playoff.

Robert Sadowski did that Wednesday by handuffing top-seeded Geneva 2-0 in the Class 4A Lake Park Regional semifinal. Bartlett, a No. 16 seed in the Schaumburg Sectional, had to beat 17th-seeded Streamwood 4-3 earlier in the week to advance to play Geneva (26-8).

The Hawks (18-19) will play eighth-seeded Lake Park or ninth-seeded Glenbard West in the regional final at 11 a.m. Saturday.
