NORTHFIELD — Friday night’s season-opening football game between Schaumburg and New Trier was postponed because of lightning.   The contest, between the Saxons of the MSL West and the Trevians of the CSL South, now is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. It will be preceded by the sophomore game at 11:30 a.m.   Lightening delays began Friday evening during warm-ups for the sophomore game, which never started.   The varsity squads waited until approximately 8:10 p.m. before administrators made the decision to move the contest to Saturday.   “You get to a point where it’s just right to call the game. The safety of the kids and our guests is the primary concern,” New Trier athletic director Randy Oberembt said.
