Hinsdale South bass fishing coach Jim Bondi messaged that the Des Plaines Conservation Area Sectional has been rescheduled for April 26 after the sectional was postponed twice last week.

The IHSA released its list of other sectionals rescheduled for Friday.

“We are going to wait on word from the state as it will have to be a joint decision between the IHSA and the DNR,” Bondi said last week. “It’s a careful balance between wanting to error on the side of caution and making sure the students are allowed the opportunity to compete.”

Last week’s heavy rains postponed several sectionals around the state, which were originally scheduled to be held April 19. As of April 17, the IHSA had postponed several of Friday’s area sectionals and expected to start the sectionals Monday.

Heavy flooding at area lakes have forced the state’s DNR to reconsider the Monday dates for the postponed sectionals. The state meet will be held May 3-4 at Downstate Carlyle Lake.

Hinsdale South is the sectional host at Des Plaines. The sectional includes Hinsdale Central, Downers Grove North and South, Immaculate Conception, York, Lemont, Benet, Fenwick and Westmont.
