It took four trips to the championship game, but Waubonsie Valley finally won at Wheaton North’s 28th annual Niebch Holiday Classic Dec. 29 with a 38-35 victory over Glenbrook South. Warriors coach Kim Connell attributed the patience of her seniors, a few like Tami Morice, were very familiar with disappointing finishes in previous. The other seniors are Leslie Eddy, Becky Williford, Erica Jordan, Kaia Spires and Rachael Ross.
